Chief Credit Officer


The Private Banker is responsible for driving consumer loan originations by developing relationships with existing Bank commercial clients and maintaining existing consumer clients at the Bank.  Manages the life cycle of the loan, including origination and ongoing servicing, while complying with all laws and regulations.


Consumer Loan Origination

  • Subject matter expert for consumer lending.
  • Ownership over creating/maintaining policies & procedures for consumer lending.
  • Manages consumer lending daily workflow.
  • Responsible for performing consumer lending functions to include handling consumer loan inquiries, origination, underwriting, disclosures, document preparation, communication to clients and closings of real estate and non-real estate loan products.

Business Development

  • Actively engaged in business development activities to grow new consumer loan relationships primarily from existing commercial bank clients. Development activities include fostering strong relationships with the Bank’s Relationship Managers who can help drive referrals and create goodwill.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the customer’s consumer needs, objectives, motivations and abilities. Solve problems and proactively suggest solutions that create value for the customer and Bank.

Relationship Management

  • Ongoing oversight of the consumer loan portfolio that includes troubleshooting issues and client inquiries.
  • Knowledge of all Bank products and services is sufficient to allow the officer to speak proficiently about the product with clients.
  • Loan portfolio is actively managed to ensure that loans are properly risk rated.
  • Manage select private banking deposit accounts.

Other Responsibilities

  • Stays abreast of regulatory guidance and changes.
  • Maintains all electronic filing so that necessary documents can be found easily, and documentation is consistent and complete.
  • Positive interaction with all lending staff and assists other departments when needed.
  • Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.


  • 4 year college degree or 2+ years related banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Ability to listen, speak clearly and effectively to others.
  • Respects opinions of others.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient skill set in the use of the following software applications: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to outlying branch areas, as business needs dictate.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
