Our Happy Clients

“It was refreshing to see their passion, their common sense approach, and their conscious effort to keep the small feel within their bank.”

— Max Duckler, CaptionMax

When Max and his wife Suzanne went looking for a new bank for CaptionMax, they shopped a dozen different offers and were pleasantly surprised by the down-to-earth enthusiasm of Platinum Bank – and they liked that our bank’s president was in attendance for the presentation.

For CaptionMax, Platinum Bank is a cohesive team of advisers who have first-hand experience starting a company from scratch and are able to make decisions in real-time – perfect partners for visionaries like the Ducklers.

It’s our honor to introduce you to CaptionMax

In 1993 Max Duckler saw a unique opportunity emerging in the U.S. television industry and planted the seed for a company that would grow into a multi-million dollar corporation with offices in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. His vision: to capitalize on an FCC mandate that would require all providers of television programming to provide closed captioning for the hearing impaired 20 hours per day, per channel. A new market was developing and he saw his chance to be a unique provider.

The road wasn’t easy. Max landed a 3-year grant, veered away from his secure television post-production career and went to work at a digital captioning workstation in his son’s playroom. Twenty-three phone messages to an influential executive in New York landed a face-to-face meeting and his first projects with major networks. A second mortgage helped pay the salary for one key employee, and Max’s persistence helped lure another key partner away from a competitor.

Fast forward to the present and CaptionMax provides both taped and live captions to just about every major television broadcaster, provides the best quality product and service in the industry, and serves as a resource to major corporations, too big to mention.
